Fifty years of booster.
When our parents Irene and Pierre opened the shop at Stüssihofstatt in 1976, it was impossible to foresee that it would one day become a place that is much more than just a clothes shop for so many people.
Today, half a century later, we are privileged to carry on the second-generation booster. With great respect for its history – and with just as much delight in what is constantly evolving.
One shop, many scenes – one DNA
The Booster was never just a fad. It has always been a meeting place, playground, sanctuary and stage. From the fifties through punk, rock, hip-hop, rave and goth to the queer scene: with us, all sorts of people stood – and stand – side by side, respectfully, inquisitively and openly. That was, and is, our ethos.
We go with the trends, but not every single one. It is important to us that the Booster stays true to itself. That you can find an outfit here for a festival – or indeed for the stage, the club or simply for your own statement.

The Tages-Anzeiger on the booster
On the occasion of our 50th anniversary, the Tages-Anzeiger visited and a detailed Article written about the Booster, our history and our daily business. It’s about regular customers, tourists in the Niederdorf, youth cultures, legendary clientele – and also the attitude that has stayed with us to this day:
Nobody gets preferential treatment here. Everyone is treated equally here.
We are very pleased about this contribution and the fact that the Booster evidently still represents a slice of Zurich for many people.
50 years – that has to be celebrated
And that is why we say: Save the Date: 10th October
Tonight we celebrate 50 years of the Booster – with a big party, a live band and everything that goes with it. We're not revealing any more just yet. Only this much: it'll be well worth coming along. And yes, it's allowed to get loud.
